The two housemaids who were maltreated by their Filipino-Chinese employers filed a complaint against them at the Quezon City Police District (QCPD).
Mary Jane Sollano, 18, and Aljance Bacanto, 16, joined by their lawyer Atty. Al Parreno filed charges of physical injuries and illegal detention against Mariano Tanenglian and his wife yesterday.
Parreno said that the victims were not allowed to leave the Tanenglian’s residence from the time they worked from them. He added that the victims experience physical abuse from Tanenglian’s wife, Aleta, and their two children.
Bacanto escaped from her employer’s home last August 10. Later, Sollano was rescued by the Commission on Human Rights, Department of Social Welfare and Development and members of the QCPD Women’s Desk.
